Local student makes Presbyterian College Dean’s List

Presbyterian College (PC) is proud to recognize Kennedy Spencer Brooks, from Harrison, for making the Dean’s List during the Fall 2018 semester. The Dean’s List is composed of students who have earned between a 3.3 and a 3.9 grade point average.

Presbyterian College is between Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina, in the college town of Clinton, South Carolina. PC is noted as much for their challenging academics as they are for their one-of-a-kind mascot: the Blue Hose. Students have the opportunity to customize their education by choosing from 50-plus majors and pre-professional programs. Area student named to Lyon Dean’s List

BATESVILLE — Owen Hardin of Deer has been named to the Lyon College Dean’s List for the fall (2018) term.

To be on the Dean’s List, a student must maintain a 375 grade point average or higher while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester.

UCA releases December graduates

 The University of Central Arkansas held commencement Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15 (2018) in the Jeff Farris Health and Physical Education Center.

 The university conferred more than 700 undergraduate and graduate degrees during four ceremonies.

Local graduates included:

• Jordan Grant of Harrison, earned at Bachelor of Business Administration Degree

• Faith Jones of Harrison, received a Bachelor of Science Degree

• Melanie Middleton of Valley Springs, earned a Master of Science Degree

• William Potts of Harrison, earned Bachelor of Business Administration Degree

UA Little Rock tells fall Chancellor’s List honorees

LITTLE ROCK — UA Little Rock is announcing its fall (2018) Chancellor’s List, recognizing more than 700 students with superior academic performance in the fall semester.

To be eligible for the Chancellor’s List, students must earn at least nine credit hours and at least a 3.9 grade point average. Students must not have D, F, I or “no credit” grades on their semester grade reports.

Local students who made the Chancellor’s List for the fall 2018 semester include:

• Charlana Benefiel, Yellville

• Mollie Hicks, Berryville

• Kayle Roberts, Huntsville

• Rhonda Thomas, Berryville

• Bethany Wishon, Harrison

UA Little Rock tells fall Dean’s List honorees

LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas at Little Rock announces students who have made the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester, recognizing more than 900 students whose academic performances have been superior at the end of the semester.

To be on the Dean’s List, UA Little Rock students must earn at least nine credit hours and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average. The student must not have any D, F, I, or “No Credit” grades on their semester grade report.

Local UA Little Rock students named to the fall 2018 Dean’s List include:

• Nicholas Engel of Green Forest

• Roberta Roberts of Huntsville

With about 11,000 students and 100 programs, UA Little Rock offers learning, research, service, social and career opportunities.
