Harbor Teacher Preparation Academy, in Wilmington, gets a new campus and is named after LAUSD board member – Daily Breeze

In its 16-year history, the Harbor Teacher Preparation Academy has made an impressive mark.

With pioneering programs, the Los Angeles Unified School District campus in Wilmington was among the nation’s first to adopt a course that allowed students to receive an associate’s degree while still in high school.

It went on to win a National Blue Ribbon School award — twice.

And it remains the only high school in LAUSD to achieve a perfect graduation rate for five years in a row, now on track for a sixth.
